SUPER EXCITED!

I'm excited! But this has nothing to do with me. Two very good friends of mine are currently undergoing IVF cycles - one is in the dreaded 2WW and another has just started her FET (you know who you are!) and I am crossing everything to see their BFP's announced in the coming weeks. You guys know I love you and I can't wait for some good news! Please cross your fingers for them!

I'm just going to assume that you might be talking about me-or feel very embarrassed if you're not!But thank you hon for your excitement and supportive comments on my blog and always remembering and txting me on my important days!It means a lot!And I'm super excited for you too! Love Ants xxx

MY TTC HISTORY

JAN 07: I decided I wanted to start TTC but hubby wasn't quite ready. Bribed with a kitten to wait another year - enter my fur baby Yeti.

JAN 08: Decide to start TTC! YIPPEE! I'm gonna be a mummy!

SEP 08: Still not pregnant. Start freaking out. Get tests done and according to GP all fine! Get hubby tested and told he is overachieving in that department so no problems there.

NOV 08: First FS appointment. Apparently I have low progesterone and after a scan find out I have PCOS. Start clomid.

JAN 09: Have routine laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and dye test to explore other causes. Results are in: I have a blocked tube, uterine polyp (removed) and polycystic ovaries in appearance.

APR 09: Go on IVF waiting list for government funded IVF treatment.

MAY 09: Start acupuncture and chinese herbs which fix low progesterone but still not pregnant after 6 months of fortnightly treatment.

SEP 09: Have a repeat hysteroscopy to remove uterine polyp once again. Told I don't have PCOS after all as no cysts seen on ovaries (think perhaps chinese herbs and acu fixed these)

DEC 09: Start first IVF cycle on 150iu puregon. Cancelled in January due to over response and 30+ follicles.

APR 10: Start second IVF cycle on 100iu puregon. 18 eggs collected, 15 fertilise but only one makes it to blasty. Mild dose of OHSS. BFN.

MAY 10: Find out that the reason our IVF cycle didn't go too well was because I am over sensitive to the puregon and my eggs grow too quickly so they aren't good quality. Crap!

SEP 10: Due to start third IVF cycle on a reduced 75iu of puregon. Fingers crossed for third time lucky!

OCT 10: BFP!!! Due 4th July 2011

NOV 10: Had first scan, beautiful heart beat seen flickering away, 12 week scan scheduled for 17th December.

JUNE 11: My son Cohen Roy is born via c-section (due to being breech) on 27th June at 12.17pm weighing in at 6lb13oz.

Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to document my journey through infertility in my quest to become a mother. Infertilty affects 20% of all couples of childbearing age, that is 1 in 5 couples. During my journey through the ups and downs of fertility treatments, I realised that it is still very often a taboo and silent topic and so I started this blog in the hopes that it may help someone who was struggling to start a family as well and also to help friends and family to have a better understanding of the impacts infertility can have on a couple.
